Looking for the best coffee on King’s Road? The Trafalgar is Chelsea’s exclusive home to Live Coffee, a shade-grown speciality coffee you won’t find anywhere else in the area.
Live Coffee was founded by our barista and bartender Josh and his wife Rosie. It specialises in shade-grown speciality coffee, grown under the natural tree canopy of the forest rather than in the sun. In this environment, coffee is protected, ripens slowly and develops deeper flavour. The protected soil also packs the crop with more nutrients.
Josh and Rosie’s mission was to find the very best growers of shade-grown coffee and support those using traditional methods to care for the wild environment. They pay above fairtrade price too, a mark of the long-standing relationships they’ve built with growers.

Our Coffee Roasts
At The Trafalgar, guests can choose from two roasts:
The Multistrata House Roast is a Mexican speciality blend with a full-bodied flavour profile of citrus, chocolate and nuts. It’s named after the natural agroforestry system it’s sourced from*.
The Afia Decaffeinated Roast shares the same quality as Multistrata, made from shade-grown beans in the wild jungles of Chiapas, Mexico. Instead of chemicals that strip away flavour, a gentle water process removes the caffeine through osmosis and diffusion, making it one of the healthiest decaf coffees you can drink. Afia takes its name from the Swahili word for health and wellness.
Your Coffee, Your Way
Drink in or takeaway, choose from Iced Coffee, Espresso, Macchiato, Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, Flat White or Cortado, all made with Live Coffee.
Live Coffee also features in The Trafalgar’s famous Espresso Martini, part of our popular £5 Pour initiative.
